Moral Quandaries of College vs. Retirement Savings
Kwame Anthony Appiah of the NYT The Ethicist answered a parent's question today about the difficult choice of paying for a child's pricey tuition at the "dream school" and busting into the retirement account or encouraging enrollment in a state school to save on tuition. This gets to the reason I started Grads529. Too many of my students and families are faced with this choice every spring. I believe that utilizing a 529 account consistently will make a big difference in a family's options when it comes to making this kind of choice.
